Top 10 P3 Projects Driven by Technology
A review of how infrastructure concession contracts have made important contributions to the deployment of new technology throughout American infrastructure networks. Ten projects from American history are used as examples of this contribution, illustrating how technology risk has traditionally been borne by producers (concession contractors) rather than taxpayers. Recent projects in Canada are used to illustrate how concessions are still useful in this way. The Hyperloop technology is described as the next potentially disruptive technology on the way.
