Brandon Carlson, Director of Product Marketing for Itron, is a skilled marketing professional with more than 15 years of experience in developing technology strategies for the utility and smart city sectors. Most recently, Carlson has led the adoption of standards-based IoT networking platforms in markets around the world. Drawing from his expertise in wireless communications, Carlson is focused on helping clients solve energy and water resource management challenges with the right technology.

Carlson started his career at HP and Agilent as an engineer, followed by managing R&D and product integration for wireless communication solutions. Carlson joined Itron in 2011 and has held various positions in product management and product marketing. Carlson received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Idaho and his Master of Science in Management Science and Engineering from Stanford University.


Wendy Tao

Wendy Tao is the Head of Smart Cities for Siemens Intelligent Transportation Systems group at Siemens Mobility in the U.S. She and her teams within Siemens work with partners and city and regional agencies on Siemens Smart City solutions, connected vehicle applications, active and adaptive traffic management and the emerging field of mobility as a service. She has spent the last 15 years working on transportation, energy and climate change issues in California, nationally and internationally as a transportation consultant – with several years spent in transportation planning, and as a transportation analyst. Wendy studied finance and environmental policy at the University of Pennsylvania, and did her Masters studies in civil engineering and city planning. She is based in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Siemens Intelligent Traffic Systems business unit is part of the Siemens Mobility, Inc. which provides efficient and integrated transportation of people and goods by rail and road – including all products, solutions and services regarding mobility.
